writer + marketer
A long time ago (meaning back in the 90's!), I declared myself an English major and began my professional writing career. From the college paper, to writing internships, to freelance gigs, to marketing jobs, and onward, the number of topics I wrote about grew along with my marketing experience.
Not long after the web began blowing up, I was in the right place at the right time, and Sandra Mitchell, Writer, morphed into Sandra Mitchell, Content Specialist.
After awhile I settled in as writer, editor, and strategist for digital and traditional marketing for wellness organizations, small business, heart-centered entrepreneurs, non-profit agencies, and higher education.
Now, using years of writing and marketing experience combined with digital savvy and life coaching distinctions, you can count on me to mentor or coach you so you can meet your business's content and marketing needs.
Gratified by working with those with client-driven and soul-filled missions, I have managed health and wellness websites and blogs; written content for online and print publication; led social media efforts and paid search campaigns; and much more.
WHAT I'M ABOUT
integrative life coach
When I first laid eyes on the photo above, I burst into tears.
Because this is what I'm about - it's what my work is about. Finding and living in a space of pure joy, contentment, and love, with a little bliss and laughter thrown in. I am completely present in the moment this picture was taken, and the foxy guy kissing on me didn't hurt, either (that's another story you can read about here).
When I'm not feeling peace and grace in me and around me, you can trust I'm working to get back to that place. Through the work I've done earning my coaching certification and with my own life coach, I have the tools and self-understanding to always find my way home. Which means I have the ability to teach you those tools and to help you uncover and understand why you live the way you do.
So, the reason for the tears? Because it was so poignant to me that in the split second it took the photographer to press the shutter button on her camera, she captured something profound and extraordinary to me: A piece of my transformation. This photo reflects a movement I've achieved from living in a near-constant state of fear, anxiety, and negativity, to this - to light. If I can find my way to joy and peace, so can you.
And, that's why I do what I do.
To read more about why I became an integrative life coach, jump on over to my blog and read the posts Troubled Hearts and Into the Blue. You can also get to know me better by reading my profile on The Ford Insitute's website.
In my free time, when I’m not hanging with my guy and my kiddos, you can find me chasing live music, researching my next travel destinations, hiking about with my wildly cute and naughty puppies, reading, working on my yoga practice, and watching way too much Netflix. Planting flowers and hugging trees pleases me, too.
